| Jamestown Friends Meeting
has a strong sense of identity. This is best captured in excerpts from
our … Spiritual Condition Report, dated May, 1997. |
| "The spiritual atmosphere
at Jamestown Friends Meeting continues to be one of acceptance, love,
and caring. We are a body that is open, tolerant, and non-judgmental
of others who may look a bit different or live their lives a bit differently.
We strongly believe that anyone who desires to worship God is, indeed,
a child of God and is welcomed into our fellowship. We embrace people
in their diversity. |
| Our extended Open Worship
period remains a key portion of our worship experience. Members and
attenders constantly comment on the value of this time for them, and
evidences of the presence of the Holy Spirit are very real…. |
| Jamestown Friends Meeting
is continually looking beyond itself for ways to serve God by serving
our fellow human beings. We search for justice in an unjust world; we
seek to feed, clothe, and shelter those who have a need; we respond
to specific needs of missions, both locally and globally. We want to
'give the cup of cold water,' but we seek to minister to one another's
spirit as well." |
